The President’s Message
Welcome to the Delmarva Football Officials’ Website
I am extremely proud to serve as the President of the DFOA. I represent the men and women who are dedicated to providing outstanding football officiating for schools in the Henlopen Conference (Delaware). Although our “official season” begins in July, our Executive Committee has been hard at work. Each season presents new challenges, our goal is to meet these challenges and provoke the advancement of our association while
maintaining the excellence of service that has been provided for many years.
Every football game involves the participation of three teams. Obviously the opposing teams assume their respective sidelines while the third team shares the field with three constant goals. Our officials step onto the field and work to maintain safety, guarantee fair play and promote sportsmanship.
It is difficult to explain the camaraderie shared by our officials. It will suffice to say that short of playing the game sharing the field as an official is as close as you can get to the thrill of the sport, the excitement of competition and knowing you’re making a positive influence on our athletes.
I encourage all of our members to stay in shape and prepare for the coming season. I welcome anyone that shares our love for the game to join our team. I look forward to seeing my officiating friends and am excited in meeting those interested in joining us.
